I'm Backkkkk!

Welcome back! A lot has happened since our last post back in January of 2013. As of yesterday September 27, 2014 Travis and I got married (insert thunderous amount of applause here)! After our gorgeous Disney themed wedding and reception we began the long and familiar trek to Orlando for our Disney honeymoon! We left rather late in the evening and only making it to somewhere in North Carolina before stopping for some sleep. After sleeping for about 4 hours we were back on the road and headed to our destination. This time we did hit some traffic and had to make a couple of stops which put us down later than we had anticipated and resulted in us canceling one of our reservations. But, the good thing about me is I plan and plan and plan so I had two reservations for the same restaurant within a few hours of each other in case we couldn't make the first one. The only downside to doing so is you have to call Disney and explain the situation so they can waive the fee for the cancellation if it's within less than 24 hours notice. Which I called and they were more than happy to accommodate us in getting the first one canceled. So with this change we now had plenty of time to check in to our hotel and get things sorted before heading to dinner and Epcot.

This trip we decided to stay at the Disney Art of Animation Resort in the Little Mermaid wing of the resort. The hotel is very beautiful with a lot of props and decor from the movies and with special room and sections devoted to four main movies (The Little Mermaid, Cars, Finding Nemo, and the Lion King). When we first arrived in the lobby it was pretty much empty so check in was rather quick. There was a note on the our reservation saying it was our honeymoon so we got our Happily Ever After buttons with the wedding date wrote on the button. We checked out the gift shop, poked our head into the arcade and walked around the Nemo pool before heading back to our rooms. Now if you're ever staying at this resort keep in mind the Little Mermaid rooms are the farthest away from everything we were very far away from the lobby and the Nemo pool. I took some pictures of our room and then we were on our way to Beach Club Resort for our reservation at Beaches and Cream. We had sometime to kill so we thought we would walk to Epcot and check out the Eat To The Beat Concert series and check out Hanson. Now there's a walk way from the boardwalk area that will take you to Epcot. It's more of a walk then we had first thought it would be. By the time we got to the stage we could only stand there for a song and a half before turning back the way we came to had to Beaches and Cream. And of course they would play Mmmm Bop while we were walking away. Now on to dinner so we checked in at the desk for our dinner and was told we had to wait 15 minutes that they were running behind. I was not happy about that mainly because I could of watched Hanson play more. True to their word 15 minutes later we were seated the atmosphere here is very fun and beachy just a little loud. Service was good and food was decent the ice cream was by far the best part in my opinion. Our server flashed the warning lights around the ceiling and got everyone's attention to wish us a happily ever after and he proceeded to tie a balloon around my wrist. I enjoyed the attention but truthfully would of preferred a free dessert I felt like a child for getting a balloon around my wrist but still it was cute.

After our dinner we took in some sights at the hotel checked out their store and then made our way back to the car. When we got back to our resort we decided to get dressed for the pool and do some shopping in the store. Now there is a Little Mermaid themed pool near our rooms but the Finding Nemo pool is the largest pool at a Disney resort as well as you can hear Nemo and friends talking under the water. So I really really wanted to go to this pool. We forgot our towels and asked the workers around the pool where we could get extra towels. They told us they were out to check with the front desk. We get to the front desk and the cast member says they don't have any but yet can send them to our rooms to wait 20 minutes and we would have them. I explained we are the farthest rooms away from the pool and that we don't want to go back to our room we want them here. She looked at me and said done, they will be in your room have a magical night, and walked away from me! So Travis who is quite upset at this point says I can swim and he'll get the towels and come back. He leaves and I go swimming after about 10 minutes the skies open up and it's just a torrential downpour. My eyes are burning from the chlorine and the rain and everyone has left the pool. Soaking wet with no towel I go back into the lobby and ask them to call my husband. They call the room he doesn't pick up, I ask for them to call his cell number they say sorry can't call anything but the rooms I'm sure he'll turn up sometime and she too walks away from me. At this point I'm just standing by the doors to the pool and I guess this custodial worker must of thought I was a lost kid or something because she asked me what was wrong and I told her I'm soaked there is no towels my husband went back to our room to get some and I don't have my cell everyone around me is speaking french and we've only been married less than two days and I've lost him, she tells me to wait there a minute and she comes back with two towels for me and says it will get better he will show up. About 5 minutes later he does and thoroughly confused by the fact that I have towels now. The rain had slowed up to a drizzle at this point and we decided to skip the pool for the remainder of the evening.

We head back to our room to get some Zzzzz's tomorrow we go to Animal Kingdom for Extra Magic Hours!
